Ponyhammer Project #2: Pinkie Pie DeffKopta

Taking some time off of other projects to focus on something (easier) that kept me up at night: Pinkie Pie.

Ok, so I did get the basic sculpts for Rarity, Applejack (not quite happy with her hat yet), and I'm working on Big MacIntosh and Octavia but getting the little details for power armor is killing me - as are my shaky hands and bad eyesight, and I thought for some variety I'd work on a bigger model and let Pinkie get her voice out.

So I was talking with QuantumBJump quantumbjump.deviantart.com/ and shared what was on my mind:
"This'll probably sound crazy but I always figured Pinkie to be an 'orky' Marine:
Sure she's got power armor, a lot of people give her a flamer because TF2 Pyro and the Party Cannon is a cool Mortar...
but Pinkie makes stuff happen just by believing it can happen, she never stops having fun, and a Pinkie candy-striped DeffKopta with streamer-wire guided rockets and balloons shoring up the propellers would be awesome."

So the fire under my rump is lit: time to get to work or else people will say Z is all talk.
This is the first stage of the project: basic shapes, a bit of paper cutting and scraping together the design elements. The first source of inspiration is the gyrocopter Pinkie had in 'Griffon the Brush-Off'

The single propeller design with one engine, at least one rokkit launcher, and some stabilizing fins (to be added later)

The design is fused with elements of 'Pinkie' to keep it 'pony' even if it is 'orky'

-The rokkit launcher will fire guided rockets. These rockets will have colorful streamers as guiding wires. The design is loosely based on the guidance system system used by Submarine Torpedoes (Red Storm Rising is my favorite Tom Clancey Novel). An ork Mek wouldn't let something as silly as a system being meant for 'underwater' keep him from trying it on land, and neither would Pinkie.
- The candy-striped rails and topper for the chopper blades will be preserved. The candy swirl will hopefully be on the rockets themselves too. The candy cane on top of the chopper blades will hopefully have some balloons too.
-Pinkie herself will be in full Space Marine power armor but unlike her friends her lower jaw and neck area will be protected with an ork Iron Gob. Instead of orky teeth implying a big bite Pinkie's will feature a big smile because, well, 'Pinky'.

I don't know what else I can do to add to the effect, maybe put the under-wing propulsion rockets coughing out confetti and glitter with the smoke, but for now I'm happy with how it's going. Now back to work, I have to design some wings.
